with Michelle Blodgett
Saturday, November 13; 10am–4pm CT
Welcome back to our studios! Experience the magic of marbling firsthand with this single-day, in-person workshop! Learn the basic process of paper marbling with acrylics, including recipes for the various components of the process. Make four basic patterns (stones, moire/waved, git-gel, and nonpareil), explore seasonal color palettes, and take home your own marbled papers ready to be used in bookbinding and other arts.
All skill levels welcome
Certificate: 6 hours, Category A or D
$120/participant (10% discount for MCBA members) + $25 materials fee
$60 for BIPOC participants (10% discount for MCBA members) + $25 materials fee
We are offering a reduced rate to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) participants to honor equity and increase access and artistic opportunities for those who have historically been underrepresented in the book arts. For individuals to whom this does not apply, register at the rate listed first and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make reduced rates available.
All in-person program participants are required to be vaccinated and to wear a mask while in MCBA’s studios and the Open Book building. By registering for an in-person program, you agree to these terms. See our COVID protocols for more information.
